This page describes what information ShopCompare ("we") actually collects, how affiliate-link tracking works, and how you can control it. It only describes practices this site genuinely uses — not a generic list of things a website could theoretically do.

What ShopCompare is

ShopCompare is a comparison and research site for cooking equipment. We publish product specifications, let you filter and compare products, and link out to retailers (such as Amazon) where you can buy them. We do not sell products ourselves, and we do not require an account to browse, filter, or compare.

Affiliate links and affiliate networks

ShopCompare participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click a retailer link on this site, you may be redirected through an affiliate network or tracking service — currently Impact, and in the future potentially others such as CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), Awin, or ShareASale — before reaching the retailer's own site. If you make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more on how that works.

These affiliate networks — not ShopCompare directly — may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information, a cookie or tracking identifier, the referring URL, which link you clicked and when, and, from the merchant, whether a qualifying transaction occurred. This is used for affiliate attribution, commission tracking, reporting, fraud prevention, and measuring affiliate program performance. We do not send your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information through an affiliate link, and affiliate-link clicks are not tied to any ShopCompare account, since ShopCompare doesn't have visitor accounts.

Once you leave ShopCompare through a retailer or affiliate-network link, that site's own privacy policy applies to whatever happens next — we don't control it and this policy doesn't cover it.

Cookies and similar technologies

ShopCompare itself sets a small number of first-party cookies:

• A cookie that records your general region, used only to determine whether the cookie consent notice below applies to you.
• Your cookie-consent choice itself, once you make one, so we don't ask again.

When analytics or affiliate-network tracking is active (see below), Google Analytics and any affiliate network involved may also set their own cookies or use similar tracking technology in your browser. You can control cookies through your browser's settings at any time, and, where this notice applies to you, through the cookie preferences control described below.

Analytics

When configured, ShopCompare uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — for example, which categories and products are viewed, and which retailer links are clicked. This is standard web analytics: no advertising features, no cross-site ad personalization, and no attempt to identify you personally. Analytics never runs on our own admin pages.

Cookie consent

Where your region requires it, ShopCompare shows a short notice before any non-essential analytics or affiliate-network tracking runs, and asks you to accept or decline. Your choice is stored so we don't ask again, and you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer. Where prior consent isn't legally required, tracking may run without this notice — either way, nothing here uses tracking for anything beyond what's described on this page.

The product request form

Our product/comparison request form collects only what you type into it. An email address is entirely optional and used only if you'd like a reply about that specific request — never for marketing, and never shared with anyone, including affiliate networks.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't require an account to use the site.
• We don't intentionally send your name, email address, or other directly identifying information to an affiliate network.
• We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site ad targeting.

Changes to this policy

If ShopCompare's data practices change — for example, if we join an additional affiliate network — we'll update this page to reflect what's actually happening.
