What to know before comparing blenders
A few things are worth understanding before comparing blenders side-by-side.
Full-size vs. personal: a full-size blender with a pitcher handles family-size batches, soups, and frozen drinks for a group. A personal blender blends directly into a single-serve cup, which is faster to clean and store but limits batch size.
Capacity isn't just about the number on the jar — a larger container also means more counter space and a bigger, heavier appliance to store.
Wattage is one useful comparison point, but not the whole story: how a blender is measured (continuous vs. peak watts) varies by brand, and some portable, battery-powered blenders don't publish a comparable wattage figure at all.
Preset programs vs. manual control: preset programs (smoothie, ice crush, and similar) automate a common blend, while a manual speed dial gives more direct control but requires more attention.
Dishwasher-safe parts vary by product and even by component — a jar or cup being dishwasher-safe doesn't always mean every part is; some manufacturers explicitly warn against washing certain components in a dishwasher at all.
